Qa with Kurtis Minder Groupsense: GroupSense was founded in June 2014 and co-founded by Tom Richards and me. When they first met, Tom was consulting for a large, global financial services company where he was doing penetration testing.
He noticed credit card number information remained being sold and traded in the open on the internet, so he worked to collect and eliminate that card information, saving the company millions of bucks in associated fraud costs.
Tom wanted to remain able to help more businesses in this way and knew that a combination of human intelligence and a software solution would make for a fruitful venture. Thus, the idea for GroupSense was born.

From that concept, they worked closely together in the company’s early years, developing Trace Light, the automated, cloud-based platform that achieves advanced, real-time data collection. The solution unifies deep and dark web data, threat actor tracking, attribution, and more.
Today, it stands as the world’s central breach database. Then, They worked together to pitch new clients and completed several proofs of concept for some large enterprises, and from there, the company took off. They hired the best cybersecurity talent and built the threat intelligence analyst team to help support the growing customer base.
GroupSense’s mission is to eliminate unexpected cyber threats and risks from the client’s businesses by utilizing the best intelligence, which they believe combines human intelligence and automated technology.

GroupSense understands the weights that enterprise security teams face today. Chief among those is infrastructure overload security pros don’t need “yet another product to manage,” adding another layer of complexity to the ever-present tool fatigue problem.
Because of this, at GroupSense, the specialty delivers finished intelligence (intelligence as a service) to the customers on intellectual property, brand assets, data. And more ready to be fed into systems and incident reply processes while also providing mitigation services where possible.
As mentioned above, GroupSense syndicates big data technology with a world-class threat intelligence analyst team that delivers the human intelligence necessary to get the job done. In addition, the company uses “undercover” techniques by law enforcement and national security organizations, so threat actors gain trust in the company’s analysts and provide them with the information they need to protect the clients.
What is Something that Helps you Stay Ahead of your Competition?
GroupSense: Initiatives rely on cyber intelligence to notify them on how to allocate their cybersecurity finances. Which is why they subscribe to an average of four security intelligence feeds. However, because these foods provide “one size fits all” intelligence.
Security teams must manually analyze and process them before operationalizing the valuable intelligence in each feed. And, with security teams strained incredibly thin, this analysis typically does not occur.
What Makes GroupSense Unique?
GroupSense has occupied security intelligence to a new level, making us competitive in the marketplace. First, the company outlines each customer’s digital risk footprint, understanding and prioritizing different points of vulnerability.
Then, GroupSense combines automated and human intellect gathering and analysis to deliver customized security intelligence to apiece customer. And when that intellect arrives at the customer’s site. It is compelling to our clients because cybersecurity threats can remain identified, addressed, and mitigated much more quickly.
