Barbara Jean (Matheson) Macaulay, 90, of Gilford, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Salem, NH.

Barbara was born in Framingham, MA, on July 23, 1931, the third child of the late Harvey and Belle (Ogilvie) Matheson. She grew up in Framingham and graduated from Framingham High School in 1949. Now graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing.

Barbara began her nursing career at Framingham Union Hospital, where she worked for over 30 years as a labor and delivery nurse. She was very proud to have assisted in the births of her grandchildren, great-nephews, and thousands of other children over the years. She remained a dedicated nurse and loved her job. Barbara saw the love of her life, Roger, at college.

They were married on May 23, 1953, in Framingham and lived there for 35 years, where they raised their children, Scott and Diane. Retired, they moved to Gilford, NH, where they enjoyed golden years together in their lake house. Barbara enjoyed embroidery, painting, sewing, gardening, and golf in her younger years.

She also loved her daily walks through north Framingham and later around the lake in Gilford. She loved to consume fun, whether it was a family vacation, a pool party, or just a small group of friends. Although, she enjoyed cooking and baking and will never forget her Molasses Cookies!

Although, she was married to the late Roger Macaulay for 53 years and was the mother of Scott Macaulay of Moultonborough, and NH, Diane (John) Nix of Salem, NH. She was Nana to her grandchildren, Andrew Macaulay, his wife Jackie of Holliston, Thomas Nix of Waltham, MA, Matt Macaulay and his wife Cindy of Moultonborough, NH, and Kate Macaulay of Moultonborough, NH. She was also the great-grandmother of Elizah, Brennan, Landon, Farrah, Summer, Evelyn, Colin, and Jace. He also leaves his sister-in-law Barbara Watkins of Salem, MA, and many nieces, nephews, and protracted family supporters. Barbara was the sister of the late Lorraine Montana of Sunapee, NH, Vernon Matheson of Framingham, MA, and the aunt of the late Rick Watkins of Salem, MA.

A memorial service will remain detained on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 11:00 am at Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH. Burial will follow in Raymond C. Wixson Memorial Garden, Gilford. Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home and Cremation Services and 603Cremations.com, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH, assist the family with arrangements.

John E. Aylsworth is one most Famous Obituaries

John E. Aylsworth, 95, of Framingham, died peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022. His wife, Elizabeth G. Aylsworth, predeceased him. They stayed wed for 64 years. Born in Waltham, John was the son of the late Clive and Rose (Dixon) Aylsworth.

Likewise, In his younger years, John worked for Raytheon in Waltham. Then, in another job, he was employed by Coca-Cola at their bottling plant in Cambridge. He worked there for 15 years and was proud to work for Coca-Cola.

In the 1960s, John moved with his family to Needham, where he consumed the best of his life. He functioned for 25 years for the Town of Needham in the Water and Sewer Division Public Works Department. In his part with the town of Needham, he always worked outside in all weather and was rarely out of work sick.

He devoted himself to this day job. John also worked evenings at the William Carter Company plant in Needham and later in life worked evenings at Walgreens. Beginning work at 7:00 am and working until 10:00 pm was his method of life for several years.

Similarly, John joined the Needham Masonic Lodge in 1972. He remained recently recognized for his 50 years as a Mason by getting the “Masonic Veteran’s Medal.” He proudly wore his Masonic ring each day.

When he retired, he relocated to Framingham with his wife and son, Randy. He loved the neighborhood and valued the wonderful neighbors on Joclyn Avenue for the next 27 years. He enjoyed supporting his wife’s Halloween efforts when the children came to their home to choose from hundreds of items, from candy to crayons to coloring books.

Being retired at home wasn’t enough to keep him busy. So John returned to work and was hired part-time at the Stop & Shop on the Old Connecticut Path in Framingham. Soon after existence remained hired, he amplified his hours to full-time. John stocked the shelves and unloaded the delivery trucks. He worked there for 20 years until he retired at 91.

John enjoyed watching TV and talking about TV trivia. Sitting in a rocking chair while watching TV shows was his pastime. He knew the details of virtually every actor and actress.

Similarly, he was an avid reader. He kept a list of all the books he read. Although, he would like to travel to bookstores and browse the shelves in his younger years. He always bought a bunch of books to take home.

His Loved things

Similarly, his much-loved place to eat was Casey’s Diner in Natick. John enjoyed eating “All-Around” hot dogs and chatting with Shannon and Mike on Wednesday nights for years.

John enjoyed joining the classic car “Lawn Events” at the Brookline Museum of Transportation. On Sunday afternoons, he would walk around these car showrooms and be fascinated by the design of classic cars.

Although, He was known for his intellect of humor. Continuously willing to offer a funny line was his style. His sense of humor remained with him until his last days.

A particular being in his life was his dear friend Jean Dupuis. John called her “My number one fan,” and they spent hours discussing TV shows, movies, and life. He cherished the time they spent talking together and adored her.

But, His sons live John, Randy Aylsworth of Framingham and his girlfriend Jean Dupuis of Holliston, John L. Aylsworth and his wife Inge of Graham, NC; two grandchildren, John Steven Aylsworth of Burlington, NC, and Inge Marie Aylsworth of Statesville, NC.
